About TESC
The Electrical Safety Council (TESC) is an independent compliance and verification body supporting post-inspection electrical safety processes across the United Kingdom.
TESC focuses on the stage after an EICR has been issued — where remedial works, timescales and documented outcomes must be managed and verified to maintain compliance visibility.
What TESC is
TESC exists to support compliance follow-up after inspection. We monitor and track EICR outcomes, with particular focus on unsatisfactory reports, remedial time windows and evidence of completion.
Independent compliance oversight
TESC operates as an independent organisation with a compliance focus — maintaining clarity over post-inspection obligations and progress toward documented outcomes.
Verification and audit trail
Compliance records are logged and monitored to support transparency, public safety and demonstrable follow-up where required.
UK rental and commercial sectors
TESC’s compliance framework is intended to support landlords, managing agents and duty holders operating across the UK rental and commercial property sectors.
What TESC is not
Clarity matters. TESC is not a contractor business and does not position itself as an inspection provider.
Not an electrical contractor
TESC does not offer electrical installation, inspection, testing or remedial works as a service via this platform.
Not legal advice
Information provided is for general compliance awareness. Duty holders should seek appropriate legal guidance where required.
Positioning. TESC is a compliance follow-up layer. The inspection identifies observations; TESC supports the period after inspection where actions, timelines and outcomes must be managed. TESC supports the UK competent-person scheme.
Why TESC exists
A completed inspection is not the end of the compliance journey. Unsatisfactory EICRs create a remedial period and a requirement for follow-up, evidence and ongoing compliance visibility. TESC exists to bring structure to that phase.
Reduce ambiguity after inspection
Clear follow-up processes reduce uncertainty for duty holders and help ensure remedial actions are progressed.
Support the remedial time window
Where applicable, follow-up processes help keep attention on timescales commonly associated with remedial actions.
Improve compliance visibility
Documented progress and outcomes support accountability and transparency across the compliance period.
How TESC operates
TESC collaborates with qualified contractors and, where applicable, relevant local authority processes to support electrical safety standards. The operating model is designed to remain neutral, procedural and documentation-led.
Contractor registration
Contractors may register to participate in structured follow-up and remedial tracking workflows.
Compliance follow-up
Follow-up processes are used to monitor progression from observations to documented compliance outcomes.
Records and transparency
Records are logged and monitored to support public safety and transparency across the compliance period.
Note. Notifications (e.g. tenants / local councils) are context-dependent and may apply only where required and appropriate within the relevant compliance framework.
